Feedback from students

  • Dumpling is one of my favorite foods, so I was really happy to make and eat dumplings. The other food was nice too, and I ate until I was full. The game after the dumpling party was a good opportunity to remember other students' names and the dance was quite fun.
  •  Experiencing home sick is the most normal phenomenon that often occurs when one travels out of their hometown. I was one of those victim of home sick, being in a foreign country with no friends that could support me, I felt so lonely and hopeless.
  • One day, I saw a notice about the upcoming activity organized by Grace Wu, resident director of female BOT dorm. The activity is to engage and welcoming the new comers through a dumpling making night. It looked interesting and fun, so I decide to attend.
  • On that night, I was nervous but excited; I knew through this event I could possibly meet more people, perhaps even someone from Australia. I was allocated to Group D, where I met many students from all over the world. As we began making dumplings I felt a bit awkward because I didn’t know how to make a proper dumpling. However, my group mates patiently taught me! We chatted and share each other’s experiences about our home towns or here in Taiwan. By the time we finished eating, another girl had joined our table.
  • I soon learned that this girl was also from Australia! What was even more of a surprise was learning that we used to work at the same place, years ago! I felt so much better and it now feels like there is someone to support me during my stay at NTU.
  • I really appreciated the organizing of the dumpling party; I made friends that I might not have met otherwise! I strongly encourage new students to join the next event. It will not only heal the homesickness but also make your stay in NTU more fun and entertaining.
