National Taiwan University Student Summer Holiday
Accommodation Management Regulations(download)
Amended and passed by the Student Assistance Commission, 2nd Semester of 2002. 23rd May 2003.
 
Article 1
In order to comprehensively manage the students’ summer holiday accommodation, this regulation had been established pursuant to Article 29 of the NTU Student Dormitory Management
Regulations.
Article 2
Eligibility:
1. Existing boarding students.
2. Non-existing boarding students of the school who have legitimate reasons to require accommodation during summer holidays.
3. Graduating students who have failed to graduate or have other legitimate reasons to require accommodation during summer holidays.
Article 3
Date of accommodation: June 25th to August 25th of each year.
Article 4
Accommodation Fee:
Summer vacation accommodation shall be in accordance with the xisting accommodation fee of the occupying dormitory. Payment of two months’ accommodation fee is required.
Article 5
Application procedures:
1. Existing boarding students: Existing boarding students do not require separate application. The accommodation fee will be collected together with the second semester tuition fee.
2. Non-existing boarding students: Within the announced period, apply for registration to the Student Housing Service Division. Depending on the vacancy situation of the dormitory space, the Student Housing Service Division shall notify the student of the approval for the accommodation and payment details.
3. Graduating students: Apply for registration and make payment to the Student Housing Service Division between the 1st of June and 24th of June.
Article 6
Dormitory Management Regulations:
1. Existing boarding students not intending to stay on for the summer vacation shall move all his/her personal belongings out of the dormitory before the 24th of June or store in school’s designated area. The vacant rooms shall be allocated collectively by the Student Housing Service Division to the other applicants.
2. Graduating students who have been granted with summer vacation accommodation shall move out of the dormitory before 25th of August.
3. Graduating students not intending to stay on for the summer vacation shall move all personal belongings out of the dormitory before the 24th of June and collect the cancellation certificate from the resident director. Bring the cancellation certificate to the Student Housing Service Division to process the cancellation registrations. Failure to complete the cancellation procedure before 24th of June shall be regarded as applying for summer vacation accommodation and therefore is required to pay for the summer vacation accommodation.
4. Those who have paid for the summer vacation accommodation but have no intention of staying shall request the resident director to issue a proof certificate before the 24th of June and apply for a refund at the Student Housing Service Division.
5. The resident director shall strictly verify the summer vacation boarding individuals according to the payment list provided by the Student Housing Service Division.
6. Matters not provided for in this regulation shall be handled according to the Student Dormitory Management Regulation.
Article 7
Provision on the designated storage requirement of existing boarding students’ personal belonging: no charges are required for fixed location storage.
1. Personal Belongings shall not be stored in the original dorm room but will be stored at a designated storage area
. No charges are required.
2. Stored personal belongings are limited to those non-valuable and non-hazardous items, up to a maximum of 5 boxes.
3. Amount of stored items should be clearly counted, locked and sealed by the owner. These should be stored after being registered jointly with the resident director and the Dorm Student Association.
4. The stored items cannot be collected during the summer vacation but are collected on the specified collection date set by the management staff.
Article 8
Other matters:
1. The summer vacation accommodation fees shall be collected and regulated by the Accounting Office in conjunction with the General Affairs Office Cashier Section. Besides using part of the revenue for administrative operating expenses, the remaining will all be used for water and electricity expenses and for improvement in dormitory  facilities.
2. Existing boarding students who have to be transferred to another dormitory due to renovation during summer vacation, shall move back to the original dormitory upon completion of the renovation. If student was unwilling to move back to the original dormitory, then he/she should complete the dormitory transfer application procedure in accordance with the regulation.
3. The required application form is issued and produced by the Student Housing Service Division.
Article 9
This approach shall be promulgated and implemented once adopted by the Student Assistance Committee. All amendment shall be treated the same way.
